Knower Forever - Knower - 2023

Album artwork for Knower Forever by Knower

A busy work slate means I don't have time for a lengthy write-up on this one, but it's an absolute killer of an album from a band I knew nothing about until a month ago.

They were recommended to me by a very kind client who always has a music tip up his sleeve. This might be his best yet.

I've no idea how to describe what Knower are up to with Knower Forever. The tone swings from funk to electro to dance to up-tempo jazz to marching band - sometimes within a single song - yet it all holds together.

Their music is a bit sweary in places, so it's not one to play in the car with the kids, but slam it on while you're bopping around town or washing the dishes and you'll get everything done in half the time.

There are no duds on this album. I repeat, no duds. Even songs I wasn't sure about at first become bangers on second listening. But the jaw-dropper is Crash The Car. The video for it is a flashback to the kind of creative things we were doing to stay busy during Covid, but that just seems to be the band's style. Hey, why not?

Oh, right, the traumatising Covid memories.

Anyway, stick this on repeat and soak it up. It'll massage your brain and kick it at the same time.
